It has been a bumper few weeks for sport and activity across all of our schools, with some wonderful opportunities for NWAT schools to compete alongside each other.
Pupils have taken up opportunities to participate in an inter-schools football tournament, held at Delamere Academy; a tag rugby megafest organised by Chester School Sports Partnership and much more.
Sport is at the heart of the curriculum for every NWAT school and we are committed to using it to inspire even our youngest pupils. While some primary schools wait until children are older before introducing a competitive element in sport, NWAT believe it can raise confidence, improve fitness and teach that winning and losing should be treated with equal importance.
Our programme is designed to appeal to all pupils and includes football, netball, orienteering, tag rugby and athletics. Older children will help out in roles such as referee, scorer and coach.
Each school will take the lead in delivering a number of competitions throughout year, enabling children to make new connections and friendships.
