Santa brings special gift to Ellesmere Primary School

Ellesmere Primary School received an extra Christmas gift to help improve play facilities, thanks to three extra-curricular visits to the village from Santa Claus.

Santa took time out of his busy schedule to make a trio of visits to Ellesmere during the festive period, delighting excited children as he rolled on his sleigh.

Generous donations made by villagers during the festive period trips will go to support three worthwhile causes, with Ellesmere Primary School one of the grateful beneficiaries.

Now Headteacher Stuart Roberts has revealed more than £200 received will go to improve facilities.

He said: “It was wonderful to see Santa Claus. I’m sure the children will always remember him coming to school, and it was a fantastic way to end an often difficult year.

“We are very grateful indeed to Kerry Rowlands who organised Santa’s visits, and delighted to receive the donation which we are excited to put to good use.

“The money will go towards planned improvements to our playground facilities, which I’m sure will prove a huge hit to our pupils. Thank you so much!”

Ellesmere Primary School is part of the North West Academies Trust (NWAT) which also runs several high-performing schools in Cheshire.
