Pupils at Oak View Academy were lucky enough to have a visit from professional athlete and team GB long jumper Dan Gardiner last week.
Dan taught a PE lesson to each year group, giving the children the opportunity to develop their skills, team work and sportsmanship. Every class really enjoyed their lessons and learnt a lot from Dan.
The day ended with an assembly from Dan on the theme of resilience. He talked about his own career and how hard he has had to work to achieve his goals and dreams. He also encouraged the children who expressed a desire to be a professional sportsperson that they must work hard and focus to achieve their dreams.
